Privacy Statement (New website coming soon)
In providing the best available health care services, East Midlands Radiology Consortium (EMRAD) members work closely with technology providers to develop and deliver cutting edge solutions for improving patient care. This includes the development of artificial intelligence solutions to aid breast screening for patients of Nottingham and Lincolnshire. These improvements require the sharing of patient information. To protect the privacy of our patients any information shared with our technology partners is anonymised to ensure no individual patient is identifiable and subject to stringent security controls.
Nottingham Breast Institute and United Lincolnshire Breast Services are part of the wider EMRAD and have been since 2016. EMRAD is a consortium of seven NHS Trusts in the East Midlands who share Radiology images - X-Rays, CTs MRIs and clinical reports with each other for the purposes of delivering patient care in the region.
In addition to the above, Nottingham Breast Institute and United Lincolnshire Breast Services have embarked upon an 18 month project to develop and test the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in breast screening. As a client/user of these services you will notice absolutely no change to your care and will continue to be seen by a Mammographer during your appointment. We are working in this project to build the AI tools using fully anonymised, historic patient data.
At the end of the project we will provide clear communications on the outcomes and next steps.
